How long is a contract?

You shall be proposed a new contract at the end of each successful contract.

How many hours will you work?
You will work an average of 70 hours a week, every day during the completion of your contract. You will have time off, but no full day off during the said contract.

Where are the ships going to?
Ships are operating year round, in the Caribbean Islands, Bermudas, Canadian Coasts, Mexican Riviera, Mediterannean Sea, Baltique Sea, Alaska, Hawaii...South America...You can be assigned to any ship in any location. You can also be transferred during your contract from one ship to another according of the needs. You will only know which ship you are assigned to once you have been confirmed to be hired, and receiving a contract with an assigned joigning date.

How is the accomodation onboard?
A ship is a floating hotel, however it is also a limited space where guests and crew live together. You will be accomodated in sharing cabins (except managerial positions). You will be provided with a crew mess (cafeteria) where all your meals will be served. There is also a crew bar, a crew gym, a crew internet cafe...and on some ships a crew swimming pool or jacuzzi, and crew lounge for late night parties. Food and accomodation are provided. YOU HAVE NO SUCH EXPENSES WHILE ONBOARD.

How do you get hired?
Send you CV in English + a photo. Names and contacts of 2 ex employeurs for references. We will contact you, and contact them. We will pre-screen you, check your experience, background, and level of English. If you fit the profile required we will then invite you for interviews. Once you present yourself to the interview, you will know within few days if you are successful and offered a position. FROM THAT MOMENT you will be contacted between 0 and 90 days and sent a ship assignment, and a package with paperwork to help in joigning the ship.

What do you need when joigning the ship?
All the paperwork that has been sent to you (letter of employment, C1/D visa that you will make with the said letter of employment in a US Embassy, your medicals forms filled by your own doctor...those forms will also be sent to you with your letter of employment).

Who is paying for the transportation to the interview and to the ship?
Travelling to present yourself for interviews is at your own expenses. Travelling to the ship might be at your expenses or at the expenses of the company, depending with which company you are joigning, and depending on what position you are joining as. Usually companies organize the flights of the managers ONLY.

What if I am sick on the ship?
There is an hospital on each ship. With 1 to 2 doctors, and 2 to 8 nurses depending the size of the vessel. You are fully covered medically when onboard, but not dentally, that is something that varies according to which company you enrole with.

Will you have time to go off the ship?
When the ship is docked in port (almost every day) you will have time to go ashore according to your working schedule on that day, to go and make phone calls, have lunch with friends, enjoy the beach, or visit those new places you will be going at. Or you can just decide to stay onboard and enjoy the sun at the crew swimming pool deck.

Who will I work with?
The crew is multi-cultural. You will make friends with coworkers from 51 different nationalities. That is the reason why ENGLISH is a must and the official language onboard.

You will work hard. But you will have fun. You will visit the world, making friends everywhere, saving money since you will have no food to buy or appartement rent to pay, no electricity or water bills, no taxes on salary. You will be able to make a career...as on a ship the hard work and great perfomers are always rewarded.
